Nine Month Stats

We just got back from Robert's nine month checkup. As we already suspected, Robert is thriving! He's 24 lbs. (23 lb. 15 1/2 oz. to be exact)! He's 30 in. tall.
He's able to do so much these days, and keeping me as busy as ever! He can crawl faster every day. I am finding that I can't leave him for very long by himself because he will soon be into something that he shouldn't be. We are slowly baby proofing the house as he shows us what needs to be removed--like the books on the bottom shelf, the portable heater (thank God we don't really need it these days), the magazine basket, the coffee table books (and soon the wooden trunk that we use as the coffee table), etc.
He's eating finger foods, now, and he delights in throwing them from his chair and then leaning over to see where they land. I'm still having fun making his foods and dreaming up ways to get him to eat them. I was proud of myself the other day because when he wouldn't let me feed him his nice squash and veggie puree, I put an egg yolk in it, microwaved it, and made him a little souffle! I cut it up and he ate it himself. I thought it was pretty creative of me!
He's certainly keeping me both physically and mentally busy each day. I find myself completely wiped out after a day of chasing him around and trying to anticipate accidents, making his food and trying to get him to eat more of it than he throws, keeping him clean, and generally loving him and making his days fun and exciting. It's all more than worth it at the end of the day when I nurse him to sleep and look at that little snoring angel in my arms. What a gift!

Baby Momma

I have no idea where I got those "granny nylons," but it looks like I was having a wild child day playing outside. I was probably 2 1/2 or 3 in this picture. I couldn't resist sharing...

Cousins

This is Jordan, the cutest and messiest two-year old I know. Here she has a cotton candy beard. Strangers kept stopping to comment on how cute and sticky she was! Mmmm cotton candy, a girl after my own heart!

Here they're having a romp in Ty's big boy bed. Note shirtless Jordan off to the side. She's not missing any of the fun!

Just the boys...Ty is so loving and patient with Robert. Well, except when he's "talking" too loud during one of Ty's movies. He'll learn...

We have been so blessed this year to get to spend so much time with my niece and nephew, Jordan and Ty, in Atlanta. My sister Lisa and I have tons of cousins, but we didn't get to see them much growing up, so we have no real connection to them now. Honestly, if we even saw some of them walking down the street, I bet we wouldn't even recognize them! I'm glad that Robert and his cousins will be much closer than we were with ours. They already love each other so much! Jordan says all the time, "I wuv baby Wobert." And when Robert gets fussy, Ty always comes up to him and whispers, "It's okay baby Robert, I'm here." How cute is that?!

Southern Tour--Atlanta

The zoo is so much fun!!!
I love barley teething biscuits!

Ma-Bop holding me at the Easter egg hunt at church!

My first visit to Chuck E. Cheese!

Robert and I are having a ball in Atlanta! We especially enjoyed our visit to the zoo yesterday with cousins and Aunt Lisa. Robert is growing up so fast these days, even since we've been vacationing. He has started to clap. He's got three teeth! He is eating teething biscuits. He can make Indian noises with is hand and mouth. He can "walk" when you hold his hands. Nope, he's still not crawling. But as you can see, he's busy growing in other ways. We've had a great Southern Tour, but we miss Daddy and our Nashotah family and are ready to head back up and wait anxiously for Spring.

Southern Tour--Charleston

7 Months

I can't believe we're already well into Robert's seventh month. He's become a real "ham" as you can see in the pictures. He loves to pose for the camera, and we love taking his picture!

He's weighing in at a whopping 22 lbs. 12 oz. these days (as of last Thurs.). He's eating lots--green beans are the newest addition, and he loves them.

The most recent news is that he's got a little tooth "bump" on the top! There are no signs of anything on the bottom, yet. He's not big on letting me look in his mouth, so it's hard to tell. He doesn't seem to be too uncomfortable, but this may explain why he gets up so often at night. Let's hope so--at least then I know there's an end in sight! Come on toofers!

I can't really think of anything else that is new with him. He's still more interested in sitting up and playing with toys than laying on his stomach and/or crawling--no signs of that, yet. He's still a very laid back, happy boy. We love him more than we ever thought possible!!!!
